1. How it all began

(1) No organization existed domestically

 

To prepare for all changes in environment taking place globally and
domestically,
To promote business ethics domestically,
And to provide services to assist domestic enterprises to improve their
business   ethics

(2) To serve the nation

 

A group of Korean business community leaders gathered to pursue this noble
  task by elevating standard of business ethics
Eventual goal is to promote ethical conducts of Korea, and thereby to promote
  her image and eliminate corruptions
 

2. Mission & Vision

 

(1) Vision
To become a bedrock of the ethical society where every stakeholders exercise
  rights and responsibility fairly.

(2) Mission
KBEI assists key stakeholders of society to reinforce competitiveness by
  - Disseminating information acquired through research and development of
    business ethics
  - Providing advisory and education to strengthen ethical foundation
  - Promoting business ethics to be accepted as social norm
 

3. KBEI: A potential leader in business ethics

 

(1) The First non-profit, officially-incorporated, private
organization in the field of business ethics

Official recognition by Fair Trade Commission of Korea
The First private, business-sector-initiated organization that provides  
  practical solutions to local enterprises

(2) Leading individuals of each key stakeholder group participating
in operation of the institute

Leaders from business sector, academia, and government-affiliated organizations,
   as well as NGO's are to join as advisory group
Institute serving as convening body for constituents of Korean society in
   promoting business ethics
